One-off clinical consultations for specialty areas

Have a case that you’re not sure how to handle? Don’t know how to move forward, what assessment to use or how to treat, but don’t need ongoing clinical supervision? A one-off consult might help.

How does it work?

  • You should come to the session ready to present the (de-identified) case including what assessments/treatments you have already tried/implemented, relevant assessment results, case formulation and patient goals.

  • We will create a plan for which assessments and/or treatments to use and how to measure outcomes with relevant formal and informal outcome meaures, maximising available funding (where relevant), so that you feel confident moving forward with the case.

    • AAC - acquired, developmental, high-tech (EEG/EMG switching, eye-gaze etc.)

    • Adult voice (including dysphonia, muscle tension dysphonia, professional voice for singers and performers, and other voice disorders)

    • Progressive Neurological Conditions

    • Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities - non-verbal communicators

    • Mealtime Management and dysphagia (in a community setting)

    • Establishment of new Speech Pathology services - resource and assessment lists, advice on policy & procedure, training needs.
